1/2-day pre-adoption workshop for families who have
previously adopted
through Dillon International
|
International Adoption from a Hague
Country: |
|
Sec. 96.48 . . . Preparation and training of prospective
adoptive parent(s) in incoming cases. For those
completing international adoptions from Hague countries,
this workshop accounts for four (4) certified
Hague Adoption Education hours. Upon
completion of the workshop and submission of the evaluation form, you
will receive a certificate issued by Dillon
International confirming your adoption education
credits. |
Overview
This workshop provides:

Updated details about the process for each country in which
Dillon works and the types of children currently needing
homes
-
A
chance to discuss issues related to raising children who
were born into different families, but adopted into your
family
-
Practical ways to create strong, positive and lasting bonds
among all family members
-
Ways to minimize sibling rivalry
-
Coping skills to deal with "Are they REAL siblings?"
-
Time to address individual concerns regarding the children
already in your home
-
A
chance to learn from other families who are raising siblings
-
Fulfillment of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration
Services' (USCIS) requirement that all adoptive families
receive pre-adoption counseling prior to adopting a child

Again" Workshop Schedule

Workshop Location
Dillon's "Adopting Again" Workshop is offered
several times during the year in Tulsa, OK.
Families adopting
through Dillon International again are encouraged to attend this workshop prior to beginning
their home study.
Driving
Directions to
Dillon International:
From I-44 East, take the Harvard Avenue exit. From
exit ramp, turn left at stop light onto 51st Street and go east
to the intersection of 51st and Harvard Avenue. Turn left
onto Harvard Avenue and go north to 31st Street. Turn left
onto 31st Street and go west approximately 1/2 block.
Agency will be on the right in a two-story gray building with
maroon awnings. From I-44 West, take Harvard Avenue
exit and go north on Harvard to 31st Street. Turn left and
go west approximately 1/2 block to agency.
Please ring doorbell at the building entrance located toward the
south end of the building and a Dillon staff person will come
down to open the door for you.
