Dillon International has recently been given the opportunity to provide humanitarian aid services to the children of Colombia—a country where 64 percent of families live in poverty -- 31 percent facing extreme poverty -- according to a 2009 UNICEF report.
Dillon has committed to provide support for the ABC KIDS Project, an English language program for children in Colombian protective custody. The ABC KIDS program utilizes a unique blend of instruction in literature, the arts and community activities to foster decision-making skills and encourage the group of 16- to 19-year-old students in their search for new dreams and opportunities.
The central goal of the program is to help these vulnerable teens grow to overcome past hurts and "take the reins of their lives" so that they may be better prepared for future success in life.
$25/month or $300/year will allow one young person to participate in the ABC Kids Program.
