At Dillon, we absolutely encourage every adoptive family to take their children back to their land of birth at least once.

When families adopt internationally, they are becoming an international family, so a birthland tour should be a family affair and a very natural and normal event.

As your children grow, they will encounter social expectations that they have visited their birth country and know some of its language, and your child will experience great pride and satisfaction from those accomplishments.

IMG_0648IMG_0160A birth country visit is a life-changing trip where one revisits the past, celebrates the present and anticipates the future. Plus, it’s a whole lot of fun.

Our Visit Guatemala tour is scheduled for the week of Thanksgiving so that kids won’t miss much school and parents won’t have to schedule much time off work.

Many Dillon adoptees lived at the Eagles Nest orphanage. If your child was from another orphanage, we will gladly help you to have a visit there on Nov. 22.

A sneak peak at the tour itinerary is on the left. By the way, four local guides and a social worker will be with you the entire time to lead the group, translate and help you through the emotions of an orphanage visit.
